My name is Sontina Curry and I am the Ministry Assistant at Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky. We have been using One Call Now for over almost two years now and it has saved not just be me, but other Ministry Team Leaders countless hours making individual calls. One example would be notifying members of cancelled services during inclement weather. We have utilized this several times and members say it was helpful and it saved them from calling us to find out if services had been cancelled. Another example would be when we have a special event such as a church-wide dinner, concert, or children's program and we set up the recorded message to go out 2-3 days beforehand reminding our members of the event. The benefit is a higher turn out to the event versus not using One Call Now and the people thankful for keeping them in the loop with the reminder call. One last example would be when we use One Call Now to send a message to a specific subgroup regarding meeting changes, something for them to bring to the meeting, or simply a reminder call. I know our Ministers enjoy using the One Call Now service and we have had several members tell us how much they enjoy receiving the messages.

I just wanted to tell you how much that your system has helped our church. I only have about 30 people on our list but I can't say enough about your system for our congregation. We used to have a prayer chain that took hours on hours to have a prayer sent through. That was if it ever made it through the whole group to begin with. With your system we have had prayer out, not to only the prayer chain, but the whole church within minutes of the need for the prayer. For example, one of the members had a grand-daughter that was in a motorcycle accident and lost her leg. The accident happened at about 4PM. We got the call to put her on the prayer chain about 1/2 hour after it happened. With your system we had the prayer out to all the members for prayer within seconds of making the call to One Call Now. Not only do we now have a working prayer chain but we now put all of our activities and information on One Call Now. We also now have the website banner on our website. We have been part of One Call Now for almost 6 months and we have saved over 40 hours of time that would have been spent on the phone. I now have told many other Pastors about One Call Now. At the Old Bridge Baptist Church in East Brunswick, New Jersey, we have a vibrant group of people who try to support each other on a daily basis in prayer, especially when sickness or accident strikes. When I became pastor of the church, however, I discovered quickly that, although people had the best of intentions, often the "prayer chain" suffered from broken links. Theoretically, a person in need would call me, I would call the church elders, they would each call a person or two assigned to them, and so on. In practice, however, calls were not completed, messages were garbled, and often half of the prayer chain never received the message to pray at all. I regularly received complaints from those who missed the message, but I could do little more than say, "I'm sorry, there's not much I can do about people not passing the word or garbling the message." We sincerely thank God for One Call Now--Since beginning to use One Call Now, everyone stays informed and complaints are nonexistent. In addition, my time is used making one call instead of tracking down multiple parties or leaving many messages. One Call Now has not only saved me countless hours on the phone for the prayer chain, it has also been useful to cancel events due to weather, and having access to sub-groups makes reminding the Board or the Choir about meetings quick and easy. Anyone who has had small children or worked in schools knows that lice is a common problem. Yes, terribly annoying and a nuisance, but what happens when parents don’t understand that this is a common problem occurring in every school? Barnert Temple’s Preschool is well known for its sensitivity to the well-being of its approximately 70 children, and for its attentiveness to parents’ concerns and fears. This winter’s epidemic of lice was managed successfully due to our use of One Call Now’s automated call system. As the epidemic spread, we needed to reassure parents, as well as educate them about the problem. Questions needed to be answered. We soon discovered our E-mail messages to the Preschool parents weren’t doing it; they weren’t able to convey the personal attention that is a hallmark of our Preschool. Worried and sometimes angry parents needed to hear the voice of our highly regarded Preschool Director. They needed to be reassured that she was effectively managing the situation and monitoring progress toward resolution. They needed to hear it directly from her, in her own words; they needed to hear her voice. That was when we hit upon a plan. Our Preschool Director would use One Call Now to record messages describing how we were responding to the epidemic and what experts were consulted. Numerous messages were sent over a period of four weeks, until we were certain that parents were satisfied with our response and the epidemic had passed. Lice, though common, is not a serious health issue (as we made clear in our phone messages). The automated phone messages enabled us to calm parents’ fears, lessen their anxiety, and reassure them that the Preschool Director was indeed in control of the situation.
